EleMints: Periodic Table app for iPhone and iPad
EleMints is a revolutionary periodic table for the science geek in all of us. Boasting phenomenal retina graphics and features such as element properties, a molar mass calculator, a plot graph and much more, EleMints will inspire you to bring out your inner mad scientist.
EleMints is structured within five sections, easily accessible from the bottom of the screen:
• The Periodic Table can be shaded according to a particular property and zoomed for more information as desired.
• The Graph displays property trends in a simple yet functional fashion, be it across a period or down a group.
• The Listing organizes elements by a property of your choosing.
• The Articles Library contains various topics on chemistry from the nucleus to the physical properties themselves.
• The Tools, such as an intelligent live-calculating Molar Mass Calculator, or the Chemical Equation Balancer, will help you solve problems and exercises even faster.
The properties inspector gives a comprehensive view of an element’s properties and values including simple definitions and an electron diagram with sub-shells to boot.
EleMints supports many properties and is constantly being updated with more for improved accuracy and efficiency. Some examples include:
• Classification
• Electronegativity
• Melting/Boiling Points
• Physical State
• Oxidation States
• Crystal Structure
• Atomic Weight
• Atomic Radii
• Isotopes
• Ionization/Binding Energies
• Electron Diagrams
• and more…
Have a suggestion? We’d be delighted to hear from you for any topic whether it be finding an error in the data or requesting a new property, any idea is welcomed. Pros and cons of EleMints: Periodic Table app for iPhone and iPad
EleMints: Periodic Table app good for
Excellent periodic table. Great to be used with nuclear physics and chemistry - not just for chemistry.
Valuable data, easy to use, friendly interface, interactive, linked to Wikipedia.
This is an excellent app. Thank you.
Physics teacher
Kudos for a great reference! Lots of great information and logically laid out. Very user friendly.
I found that this app has a really good interface and has a great deal of data for each element. Not only this but each element has a wiki and webelements section (which I assume can be viewed offline) for finding out a little more info on each if desired. The graphs are useful for visualizing trends and seeing how the physical property of one element compares to others quickly.
My only problem with this app, though minor, is sometimes the webelements and wiki page loads slow, however this only sometimes happened when loading them the first time after opening the app.
Bonus marks to the sweet icon! One of the best Ive seen. Placed it on my homepage just because of its looks :)
It was there before the 2.0 update and now it looks like the developer took it out for whatever reason.
This is my favourite elements app on the App Store because is very informative, has a beautiful design, and provides the informations you need. It would be nice if the classification text bar moved with the direction of the table. Thanks for a great app!
This is my favourite app and I use it very often. I am a chemistry professor at a college and I highly recommend it to everyone. Please make it iPhone 6 plus optimized.
Some bad moments
Somethings wrong here. Tested on iOS 4 with iPhone 3Gs. The table itself falls off-screen often, and is oft oriented 90 degrees off. The app is prone to crashes. Looks like everything works fine, except the interface terrible, a little convoluted, and the app itself is prone to crashes.
Alrhough the look and information is great, it is very unstable. The tabla slips off screen and when you want to zoom in. Maybe next version will be better but there has not been updates for a while. Ran away with our money?
I used to use this every day in my Chem class. After the update, the formula tools are gone. I used those all the time! And now all there is is a lame spreadsheet of the information. This really feels like a step backwards.
To be 100% honest i wish i could use the old app, i miss the molar calculator and the listings table acts a bit funky to me. I like the new table layout though!
too clogged... had to restart app just to be able to go back to original screen :)
